WAKO GIKEN'S SDGs and contribution to continuous development of the society

We contribute to society through an integrated system from development to maintenance of power generation systems that utilize renewable energy and products that help address environmental issues.

Kyoto University Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies to be a base for the global expansion of SDGs! Promoting DO YOU KYOTO at COP24 in Katowice (Poland)!

To coincide with COP24, which was held in Katowice, where pollution problems caused by coal-fired power plants are becoming more serious, Associate Professor Asari of Kyoto University Graduate School led an awareness-raising campaign called "DO YOU KYOTO? (Are you doing something good for the environment?)," advocated by Kyoto City, which ranks first in terms of SDGs advancement, aimed not only at city officials but also at passerby citizens.

Discussions on measures to combat microplastics in the Solomon Islands, where sea levels are rising and land area is shrinking due to global warming

Large amounts of plastic products wash up on the Solomon Islands, mainly from China, and are incinerated using valuable foreign currency, which has resulted in global warming and rising sea levels.
Rather than amortizing products made from petroleum, it would be better to recycle them back into petroleum, but the equipment required is expensive, so this practice has not been widely adopted.

With the support of Kyoto Prefecture, we set up a booth in the Kyoto Prefecture Official Exhibition Hall and promoted our solar power-related products to the Barcelona Mayor and other guests. In addition, in order to widely recruit companies from all over the world to move into the "Keihanna Open Innovation Center," a base for smart communities and startups run by Kyoto Prefecture, our company's President Iwasaki participated in local production meetings for a promotional video as an assistant to Kyoto Vice-Governor Yamashita.

Supporting the energy independence of the Republic of Moldova! The only Japanese exhibitor at the Romanian Energy Exhibition!

Moldova has an energy self-sufficiency rate of only 18%, and is unable to escape poverty due to its reliance on neighboring larger countries. With the aim of supporting this country through agricultural recovery and tourism promotion using renewable energy, the company exhibited at its first energy exhibition in Bucharest, the capital of neighboring Romania, where it is hoped to find partner companies.
